A dramatically decorated condominium in Adam's Point overlooking Lake Merritt, with sweeping views of Bay Area bridges. Plush fabrics and porcelain warmly accent the solid wood furnishings: a vintage thrity-year-old coromandel screen wraps behind the Versace covered sofa. A number of pieces were special ordered and custom designed by Jane Tai of Rosewood House for the thirty-year customer and family friend.
Side-by-side, similarities between the Rosewood House home (circa 2004) and the publication cover of, Houses (Rizzoli, 2008), by Michael S. Smith, are uncanny. From Smith's publications and work, he is wholeheartedly welcome as a Rosewood House enthusiast as his style mixes the traditional and exotic.
Congratulations to the California-based interior decorator for securing the noble position as the official American Predidential White House Decorator.
